PM4NGOs Champions are DPro subject matter experts (volunteers) who represent PM4NGOs in specific country or region, providing support to organizations, learners, and practitioners around the world. A PM4NGOs Champion contributes to the development of professional standards that shape the future of the profession by sharing the experience and feedback from local organizations, professionals, universities, and students, helping professionals and students build experience and grow their careers through the development of local activities / events, and leading the production of contextualized materials.

Mahoudo Jules Aimé Bonou, MD, MPH, brings 20 years of experience providing technical assistance and clinical mentorship to large-scale HIV and TB projects in Benin, Burkina Faso, Mozambique and others countries, with a focus on optimizing service delivery, quality of care, professional training and skill building on project management. He serves as a master trainer and mentor in project management for a pool of Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) trainers based in twelve African countries and the United States.

He has a history of close collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MoH) and other stakeholders in Mozambique through his involvement in the development of national HIV guidelines and. In his current role as Technical Director, Dr. Bonou provides in-country technical direction and support to EGPAF technical team and sub grantees in line with the MoH program policies, strategies and guidelines; ensures that the EGPAF country program is technical sound and is in line with the EGPAF Global and national technical policies, strategies and guidelines. Acting also as Project Manager, he secures full compliance with EGPAF project management policy, implements full project management as per USG rules and regulations specifically CDC guidelines.

Previously, he served as clinical coordinator for multiple projects led by Médecins Sans Frontières and the Institute of Tropical Medicine of Antwerp, where he gained extensive experience mentoring clinical staff. Recently, he served as Quality Improvement Technical Advisor, overseeing the development and institutionalization of QI initiatives into EGPAF’s programs at all levels and nationally through provision of technical assistance to the National QI Committee.

Dr. Bonou holds a degree in General Medicine from the University of Abomey – Calavi in Benin, and a Master’s of Public Health from the Institute of Tropical Medicine of Antwerp in Belgium.

Mohamed Ziyad is a 15+ years’ experienced development projects management specialist. He has managed projects in the area of Migration, Local Governance, Water and Sanitation, Capacity building for war effected community, Plantation worker’s rights, peace and reconciliation, combating human trafficking, language rights, democracy, gender mainstreaming, and strengthening government and civil society organization’s institutional development. He has worked with a number of International Non-Governmental Organizations.

Currently, He is the Programme lead at Centre for Development Research and Interventions and a founding Director of Centre for Social Solidarity. He holds bachelor in Language and Mass communication from Eastern University of Sri Lanka and LLB (Hons) from Buckinghamshire New University, UK. Sîm-Yassah is a founder member of The Centre de Recherche, d’Etude et d’Appui Technique (CREAT), a non-profit organization in Togo that support capacity building of young and/or emerging evaluators and nonprofit organizations in project management, monitoring and evaluation.

Sîm-Yassah is certified in PMD Pro1 and has facilitated several face-to-face and virtual training sessions using the PMD Pro methodology.

He lives in Lome, Togo (West Africa), where he enjoys hobbies that include running, playing basketball, swimming and enjoying local food.

Also, a champion in social entrepreneurship, he won the 2013 International Project Management Association (IPMA) “Gold” for Community Development Project and the 2013 Green Project Management “Silver” for Most Sustainable Project for the project he implemented in Nepal to help rural farmers’ financial cooperatives transform through the use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT). His mantra for successful project and program deliveries has been his favorite quartet: PPPM, Systems Thinking,

Entrepreneurial Change, Enabling Thrivability of teams. For him, the last of the quartet focuses the team’s well- being and organizational health. He currently leads and supports both projects and programs at Adtalem Global Education, USA, through LearnoVation team to research, test, and scale innovative learning technologies – includes AR/VR, AI, Avatar based simulations – across the company’s five education institutions to support its collective students to succeed academically.

He served as the PM4NGOs board member from 2018 and 20023 and is one of the contributors to PM4NGO’s two guides: the Program DPro and the new Project Dpro. He is an active IPMA Project Excellent Awards assessor, the current IPMA Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Special Interests Group global head. He holds Bachelor of science in Electrical Engineering, Master of Science in Information and Communications Technology, and Ph.D. in eLearning Methodology; and maintains his PMP certification.

Dr. Irene Ciccarino is a management professor and researcher, and an expert in project management and sustainable development. Her professional and academic work contributes to strategies, policies, and investments aimed at social entrepreneurship and innovation. She is a Ph.D. in business management from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), and an M.Sc. in the same field from IBMC-RJ (Brazil). She also has a specialization in public policies for social equality, granted by the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO). Two of her studies were awarded by CLACSO and EMES International Research Network. Nowadays, Dr. Ciccarino is a postdoc fellow at the ShareForest project to study participatory methodologies for public and stakeholder engagement in the protection and valorization of forests in Portugal funded by FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia. She is also a lecturer of project management classes in Masters at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (Portugal). She also helps local brands development and traditional product marketing as a fellow of the HOD company.

With over 20 years of management experience, she has worked in consultancy for public, private, and social economy clients, such as Petrobras, Transpetro, Capgemini, and Viva Rio. She contributed to public policies' elaboration, such as the employment and income axis of the “Minha Casa, Minha Vida” program and the creation of the Youth Reference Centers of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). She developed projects Proximidades, Casas Vivas and Espaço Elos to support audiences of different age groups in situations of extreme social vulnerability and drug abuse. As a project manager in CUFA (Brazil), she coordinated the projects “Rebelião Cultural” in the high-security prison system and the TV program “Aglomerado”  to spot peripheral culture.

She is currently on the board of the Óbidos Social Innovation Hub (Portugal). She is also associated with the European Anti-Poverty Network (EAPN), European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ECSB), UMAR, a historical Portuguese women-right union, Zebras United (USA), Donut Economics Action Lab (Global).

Dr. Ciccarino supports training and professional development under Project Dpro methodology by local partnerships within the Iberian academy and social economy.

She specializes in tax incentive laws, having worked on the preparation of more than R$ 90 million proposals throughout Brazil. Among the projects she has approved, there are clients such as MUB3 - Museu da Bolsa de Valores do Brasil and Instituto Az Mina. She is certified by Project DPro, facilitating this training with Quintessência. She is also a co-facilitator of the Quintessence Project Incubator that is in the practical application of Project DPro and in the fundraising of the projects developed. She also acts as a mentor and consultant for civil society and social business organizations.

Lisandro is Chair Professor of International Relations and Coordinator of Master in Social Project Management at University of El Salvador, his research focuses on development aid dynamics in global sustainability governance and SDGs localisation. He has over 15 years of experience as independent evaluator and development practitioner in Central America and Spain with exposures to work for several development agencies as USAID, U.S. Department of State (DOS), Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), LuxDevelopment, UNICEF, IDB and EU. Similarly, he has collaborated with several international NGOs such as WorldVision (WV), Spanish Red Cross, Brücke Le pont (Switzerland), Cordaid (Netherlands) and Brot für die Welt (Germany). Moreover, since 2014, Lisandro is the country representative to El Salvador office of the National Center for State Courts (NCSC); an U.S. private, non-profit organization that seek to expand access to justice and improve quality of services through technical assistance, training, and technology.

He holds a PhD in International Development of University Jaume I and a MA in International Cooperation and Management of NGOs of University of Santiago de Compostela. Besides, Lisandro holds a MSc in Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility and BA in International Relations. Lisandro is passionate about using scientific evidence and creativity to design social development programs.

Mr. Mohammad Zeitoun is a seasoned development and humanitarian sector professional with over 14 years of experience. Mohammad holds a MSc in International Public Service Management from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois that focused on exploring holistic approaches to social problems and topics such as refugee management, sustainable development, poverty reduction, and the intersection between these topics and local, national, and international policies.

Complementing his education, Mohammad spent the early years of his career in the non-profit sector in Chicago, working with World Relief and Heartland Alliance, specializing in case management and mental health for refugee and asylum seekers resettled in the Chicagoland area.

Since 2011, Mohammad has been working as part of the Senior Leadership Team at Genome Training and Consulting, a firm in the MENA region focusing on providing capacity building and consulting services for the development and humanitarian sector.

In addition to his work with Genome, Mohammad is also active in the civil society sector, focusing efforts on cross-cutting themes in liberalism, democracy, and youth engagement. Currently, Mohammad serves as the Vice Chair for the Free Thought Forum (FTF) in Jordan, collaborating with international partners to provide awareness and advocacy for civil society engagement and liberalism. Charles has been applying the ideas of systems thinking in his academic and professional initiatives since the 2010s. He holds a BSc in Pharmacy from Kalamoon University and a diploma in Advanced Studies from the University of Geneva in Humanitarian Action (Designing Strategies and Projects for Humanitarian Action). Besides, Hassan holds a master of business administration at Marmara University.

He is a certified trainer in Program Management for the Development Sector (PgMD), Project Management for the Development Sector (PMD Pro 1&2), Remote management, The Sphere Project, and Quality & Accountability.

Hassan has ten years a humanitarian aid worker, designed and facilitated training & consultancies in a Project Management (Project DPro) and Organizational Capacity Assessment (OCA) in Syria, Yemen, Iraq, and Turkey, and he has worked as a specialist consultant for multiple UN agencies, INGOs and humanitarian academic organizations such as UNDP, IOM, OCHA, ICVA, Relief International, Action Medeor, AAR Japan, SPHERE, Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS), Humanitarian Academy for Development (HAD), Johns Hopkins University Center for Humanitarian Health, and NGO Coordination Committee for Iraq (NCCI).

Hassan has conducted Organizational Capacity Assessment for more than 57 Syrian Organizations, 30 Iraqi Organizations, 10 Yemeni Organizations.

Moreover, Hassan has acted as project manager for more than 47 projects in various sectors funded by different donors such as GIZ, Expertise France (EF), Medecins Du Monde (MdM), UN Agencies, WorldVision (WV), International Rescue Committee (IRC), Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW), Save The Children (SCI), Norwak and World Health Organization (WHO).

Before Bousla, Hassan was Capacity Building Director in Trust. Before Trust, Hassan was Chief Development Officer and Deputy CEO for the Union of Medical Care and Relief Organisations (UOSSM), where he was responsible for developing capacity building, designing strategy and establishing policies and procedures.

He holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Mersin University and an Executive Doctorate in Business Administration (EDBA) from the European Global School – Paris. His academic qualifications also include a Diploma in Hospital Management from the Canada Global Centre, a Diploma in Advanced Proposal Writing, and a Diploma in Health Governance—both from İstanbul Sabahattin Zaim University.

Since 2011, Obidah has worked extensively on civil society engagement, post-conflict governance, conflict resolution, and organizational reform. He is a recognized trainer and facilitator in technical disciplines such as Theory of Change (TOC), Project and Program Management (Project DPro & Program DPro), Social Network Analysis (SNA), and Curriculum Development. In parallel, he delivers training on soft skills in conflict contexts.

Obidah has held senior leadership positions including Regional Director, Operations Director, and Programs Advisor, where he led multi-sectoral initiatives across conflict zones, ensured donor compliance, and advanced institutional effectiveness. Notably, he served as CEO of one of Syria’s largest hospitals, managing a team of over 400 during an active conflict period.

He currently serves as the Syria Champion for PM4NGOs, supporting professionals and organizations across Syria, Turkey, and the broader MENA region.

He is a prominent volunteer, as he has more than 8,000 volunteer hours on the National Platform for Volunteer Work.

Since 2016, he contributed significantly to the development of cadres working in the non-profit sector by obtaining Project DPro Certificate and transferring the impact to society by providing these courses to leaders and cadres of the non-profit sector. He believes that this certificate is the most prominent certificate in qualifying project leaders in the non-profit sector, and he is determined to spread this certificate on a large scale in this sector through his personal efforts and Majmaah university efforts, and in cooperation with the bodies concerned with this certificate inside and outside Saudi Arabia.

John Cropper has worked in the NGO sector for over 20 years. He worked for the British Council in Spain and Vietnam and he worked for Oxfam GB for 10 years. During this time, he was the Regional Programme Manager for Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean and later the Head of Programme and Project Management systems. His final job with Oxfam GB was managing ‘Raising Her Voice’, a global programme on gender and governance.

At the beginning of 2011, John joined LINGOs as the Director of Project Services for LINGOs. LINGOs is a US registered NGO that has over 80 member organisations – all of which are international NGOs. LINGOs focuses on developing the skills and capacities of people working in International development. John manages all LINGOs’ project management capacity building initiatives and, above all, works with NGOs to understand the centrality of effective program and project management. John was part of the working group which created PMD Pro and he has been involved with PMD Pro since its inception. He was one of the authors of the Guide and has been involved in all of the updates and translations.

John is the Chair of the Dalit Solidarity Network. He is a member of the Project Management Institute and the Association for Project Management. He is Prince 2 qualified and holds Masters Degrees in Education and Multimedia Communication as well as an MBA. John has lived and worked in China, Vietnam, Spain and Mexico and is speaks in English, Spanish and French.
